Sort of the Apocalypse is now releasing in December 2026. It’s moved up in priority, and I’ve been working hard to get it ready while building a community and gathering wishlists.
Along the way, I was recently featured in Coloured Static Press. I answered seven questions about the development of Sort of the Apocalypse, and it was a chance to share more about the work behind the game.
Read the interview at Coloured Static Press if you’re interested. Thanks to them for taking the time to feature it!
Why this game is coming first
I decided to move Sort of the Apocalypse ahead of Dead End Disposal because I’ve been seeing more games in the tidy-up genre popping up lately. I really wanted to put my own spin on it, and it felt like the right time to go ahead and do that.
It’s a smaller game in scope, but I’ve still been putting in long days and weekends to bring it up to the quality level I want. The game is mostly finished now. Most of my time is going into polish and making some things a little more flashy.
Learning the other half of making a game
Marketing is no joke. It’s a lot of work.
Alongside development, I’ve been trying to get the game in front of people, build up the community, and give interested players a reason to wishlist it. There’s a lot to learn, and that takes time too.
This first release will give me experience with that side of making games and help me start building a following for the studio. I’m excited to get it into players’ hands and carry what I learn into whatever comes next.
If you’d like to follow along, you can wishlist Sort of the Apocalypse on Steam. Thanks for being here and supporting the game.
